Freedom, that describes the Golden Promise, a clipper from 1911 that is fully equipped and sails surprisingly smooth. A large renovation in 2005 has equipped each cabins with its own direct shower and toilet. Perfect for larger groups and more professional oriented trips. The large kitchen has been equipped with luxury utensils and has a lively bar with beer tap. The cosy room is perfect for meetings or for a group of friends or family to simply hang out and enjoy each others company.

The layout of this sailing ship

On the deck of this amazing ship there is a common room which can seat up to 24 people, here you can find a buffet. The ship also has a professional 6-pit stove, large oven, fridge and freezer. The ship contains eight bedrooms, two 4-person rooms and six 2-person rooms. There are four toilets and four bathrooms with showers on the ship.

Sailing area

We sail from our port of Monnickendam to the Gouwzee and Markermeer, and often visit Hoorn, Edam, Volendam and Amsterdam. On longer trips we will sail across the IJsselmeer and Wadden Sea to the Wadden Islands and arrive on Texel, Vlieland and Terschelling. Sailing these salty waters is a special experience. Especially when the Wadden Sea falls dry at low tide and you find the boat laying on the bottom of the dried up sea.
